Wyoming Respiratory Therapy CE Requirements

8 Hours every 1 year - Total CE requirement for license renewal

• Total Requirement: 8 contact hours of continuing education are required annually (every year).
• Online/Self-Study: Wyoming does not limit the number of hours taken through online or home-study courses. You may complete all 8 hours via approved online methods (e.g., AARC approved courses).
• Mandatory Topics: There are 0 specific mandatory course topics (e.g., no ethics or patient safety requirement) for standard renewal.
• Life Support Limits: You may apply a maximum of 4 hours total from ACLS, PALS, or NRP courses. Basic CPR (BLS) is not accepted for CE credit.
• Approved Sponsors: Courses must be approved by the AARC (American Association for Respiratory Care) or the Wyoming Board for Respiratory Care.
• Proration: Hours are prorated for the first renewal. If licensed for less than the full year, you may have a reduced requirement (check your specific license letter).

Wyoming License Renewal Process

1. Expiration Date: Licenses expire annually on October 31st.
2. Renewal Window: Renewal notices are typically mailed or emailed 60 days prior to the expiration date (approx. Sept 1st).
3. Method: Renewal is generally completed via Paper Application mailed to the Board or through their Online Portal (if active). *Note: Wyoming has had periods where online renewal was unavailable, requiring paper forms.*
4. Fees: - Online Renewal: ~$50.00 - Paper/Mailed Renewal: ~$100.00 *(Fees are subject to change; online renewal is incentivized with a lower rate when available).*
5. Late Renewal: If you fail to renew by October 31st, you have a 30-day grace period to reinstate. A reinstatement fee (typically $50.00) will apply in addition to the renewal fee.
6. Lapsed License: If you do not renew/reinstate within the grace period, your license lapses. You cannot practice until you re-apply and meet current requirements.
