Dr. Albert Heuer and Terrence Shenfield, both leaders in the field of respiratory care, recognized a growing need for accessible and reliable educational resources tailored to the unique challenges of this vital profession. The experts behind A&T Respiratory Lectures
Co-Founder and Professor at Rutgers University, Dr. Heuer brings academic rigor and real-world experience to A&T Respiratory Lectures.
An award-winning educator inducted as a Fellow of the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) in 2016 and has received numerous distinctions, including the University Master Educator Guild Award. Holding a Ph.D. in institutional healthcare quality from Seton Hall University and an MBA in Finance, Dr. Heuer brings both academic rigor and real-world experience to his work.
Dr. Heuer's clinical experience spans decades, regularly practicing in adult intensive care units at a leading hospital system in Northern New Jersey. He has also co-authored textbooks, contributed to peer-reviewed research publications, and presented at national and international conferences on topics ranging from respiratory therapy to healthcare administration.
Co-Founder and former Education Coordinator at a major trauma center, Terrence transitioned from Wall Street to respiratory therapy in 1992, quickly becoming a recognized leader in neonatal, pediatric, and adult critical care.
With over two decades as Education Coordinator at University Hospital in Newark, NJ, Terrence has educated countless healthcare professionals and is a sought-after speaker at conferences nationwide. A pioneer in integrative medicine with a Master of Science in Complementary and Alternative Medicine, specializing in areas such as nutrition, herbal medicine, and medical cannabis.
Combining traditional and holistic approaches to healthcare, Terrence provides a well-rounded perspective in his teachings. He is also the founder of ATECAM LLC, further solidifying his dedication to improving healthcare education.
