The management of severe, persistent asthma has been transformed by the emergence of biologic therapies. Unlike traditional treatments, biologics represent a sophisticated leap in precision medicine. Derived from living sources, these targeted agents specifically intercept the molecular pathways—such as IgE, IL-5, or IL-4/13 receptors—that drive airway inflammation and hyper-responsiveness. While conventional therapies like inhaled corticosteroids and bronchodilators remain the cornerstone of symptom control, biologics provide a critical intervention for patients who remain symptomatic despite optimized standard care.
